You start a search from almost every object in the Workbench tree. If the object is a folder then the search operates on the folder contents and its dependants. By carefully choosing the search start folder in the Workbench tree you can refine your search for better results. Starting a search from a folder at a high level such as ‘Content’ could be resource consuming. Next example describes how to search for a word in our ‘Animals information’ project. Assume we want to find out which of the topics is about animals of prey.

Popup the ‘Animals information’ menu and select ‘Search’

The search options

The window that opens supports different search options. To search and replace text you should select the ‘Text’ tab and select the ‘Find Text’ option in the dropdown list on top of the pane. Next, you can enter the text string you want to search for in the field beneath the drop down. Here in this example that would be word ‘prey’. You can also choose to search in the body of the topics or/and in the description of both folders and topics.

If all options are chosen you click ‘Start’ to initiate the search process. You can follow this in the Workbench tree: the folders will automatically expand and implode. You can stop and resume this process any time.

As soon as the search is finished you can explore the result.
